The Problem
Set in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, the picturesque village of Lustleigh - often called the prettiest in Dartmoor - presented a not-so-pretty operational challenge.
South West Water Ltd identified that ammonia levels at the site were no longer meeting required discharge standards. But improving treatment performance wasn’t the only hurdle.
Access to the site was severely restricted:
- A narrow 2.5-metre-wide railway bridge blocked standard equipment delivery
- Height constraints ruled out conventional plant transport
- The rural, sensitive setting limited installation options
So the challenge wasn’t just what to install - it was how to get it there at all.
